  • 1 tsp ginger, grated

  • 1 spring onion, finely chopped

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp oyster sauce

  • ½ tsp sesame oil

  • ½ tsp white pepper

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1 cup chicken stock or water

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Prepare the cabbage
Separate the Chinese cabbage leaves and wash well. Blanch them in boiling water for 1–2 minutes until soft. Drain and set aside.

  2. Make the filling
In a bowl, combine minced pork, garlic, ginger, spring onion, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, salt, and cornstarch. Mix well until sticky.

  3. Stuff the cabbage
Place a spoonful of pork mixture onto each cabbage leaf. Roll tightly, folding in the sides to form neat parcels.

  4. Cook the rolls
Arrange the stuffed cabbage rolls in a pan or steamer. Pour chicken stock or water around them. Cover and simmer on low heat for 15–20 minutes until the pork is fully cooked and juicy.

  5. Serve
Spoon some of the cooking broth over the rolls. Garnish with spring onions if desired and serve hot with steamed rice.
