Quick & Easy Kanelbullar Recipe
500g (4 cups) all-purpose flour
75g (⅓ cup) sugar
1 packet (7g) dry yeast
1 tsp cardamom (optional but traditional)
1/2 tsp salt
250ml (1 cup) warm milk
75g (⅓ cup) butter, melted
75g (⅓ cup) butter, softened
100g (½ cup) brown sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 egg (for egg wash)
Pearl sugar (or crushed sugar cubes)
Instructions:

Make the dough: In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, yeast, cardamom, and salt. Add warm milk and melted butter. Knead for about 10 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.

Prepare the filling: Mix butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon into a smooth paste.

Shape the buns: Roll out the dough into a rectangle (about ½ cm thick). Spread the filling evenly. Fold the dough in half lengthwise and cut into strips. Twist each strip and form into knots.

Second rise: Place buns on a baking sheet and let them rise for 30 minutes.

Bake: Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle pearl sugar on top. Bake at 200°C (390°F) for 10–12 minutes until golden brown.

Cool & enjoy! Best served warm with coffee or tea.
