Buuz (Mongolian Steamed Dumplings)

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ lb ground beef or mutton
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder

Instructions:

  1. Mix flour and water to make a firm dough. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground meat, onion, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Roll the dough into small circles and place a spoonful of meat mixture in the center.
  4. Fold and pinch the edges to form dumplings.
  5. Steam for 15-20 minutes and serve hot.
